NASA predicts that TESS will discover 20,000 extra-solar planets (ie, exoplanets), including more than 50 planets about the same size as the Earth, and up to 500 planets within twice the size of the Earth.

On the 15th, NASA’s Goddard Space Center TESS scientist Elisa Quintana told reporters that it might be possible to find planets orbiting stars that are visible to the naked eye.
